We’d have Ray along but this gig has a strictly – acoustic no drums – policy so we thought we’d use it as an opportunity to present some of the new material for another album we are planning and also to play through some of the Brazilian repertoire. Leo will be playing soprano sax, alto flute and baritone sax and might even sing one from his songbook. Doug – guitar of course.

The theme is Global Gardens so there’ll be West African rhythm, Brazilian guitar and some Indian ragas mixed together with jazz groove.

Its an event put on by City of Stonnington in the park. Its free to attend, attracts about 5000 people. We’ll be doing a couple of sets on the stage. Victoria Gardens High St Prahran (in High St between Chapel and William closer to Williams on the North side of High St)

There’s a couple of stages there and we are playing at the surround stage in the top shed in the middle of all of the food stalls.
