Just an initial note to say that Louie Prez is doing a gig on Sunday October 10th 2010 – Spring into gardening – in Malvern that starts at 1pm. Its an event put on by City of Stonnington in the park. Its free to attend, attracts about 5000 people. We’ll be doing a couple of sets on the stage. More details to follow.

SCAM album live streaming global launch. November 28th 2009

On Saturday November 28th at 9pm Louie Prez will be launching SCAM in a global live streaming event, broadcast from the Dog Theatre in Footscray Australia. In conjunction with Digital Pill and supported by Maribyrnong City Council, the trio will present music from their new album. Come to the show and be part of the live audience or hear the band streamed into your lounge room via the internet. Lights camera action. Frank Woodley is going to MC for the night. We just finalised the deal for digital download of the album through iTunes. If we were Sony, you could buy it from there tomorrow but as things stand, it will take a couple of weeks for them to get around to putting it onto the iTunes store. Its sort of like the process of waiting for the CDs to come back from the factory. In the meantime you can download the opening track ‘The Phantom’ from our store and if you check back in a couple of days you’ll notice we’ve added ‘On Safari’ the biggest selling track from the Zebra Crossing CD that Ray and Leo have previously released. Stay tuned . . . .

Fairbridge Festival washup

Thanks to everyone who came and saw our gigs at Fairbridge Folk Festival. The last time I was there was five years ago and in that time the Festival has grown a lot larger. Happily its done so in a good way. Its very much a family event now. Louie Prez played two sets on the two large stages and we revelled in the music together with the audience. I ended up on Sunday night on the verandah of Doug’s accom with Festival director Steve Barnes (I discovered he’s a very good guitarist) and others listening to music and jamming until the early hours. Priceless stuff.

We shot video of the two concerts and as I find time over this next week I’ll watch it and post some clips on youtube and embed them in the site. Stay tuned.

Cds arrive!

Just got my hands on the CDs and took them down to the warehouse. We’ll be sending them out to everyone in the next week who ordered a pre-sales copy (thanks). Special thanks to the people who bought 20 copies. I’ll take a pic of the beautiful packaging and post it in the site’s store. Don’t quite understand why the music always sounds better when you get the CDs back from the factory, it shouldn’t, but it does. The music certainly looks better. There’s a quote that goes along the lines of - reading about music is like dancing about architecture – feel free to correct me on that but you get the gist.

Stock arrives after easter

I talked to the CD duplicators, they talked to the printers, then it went back up the chain. Turns out the CDs will now be ready after easter. When they start talking about ink and glue drying I reckon its probably best to wait. After all we did insist on ordering deluxe packaging. The wait only gave me time to tinker with the website and make the video about the cover shoot. Have a look at it, the soundtrack for it is the first track from the album – a stunner.
